After a free initial consultation with David Peck, you'll decide if there's a match, or if you'd prefer to consider other coaches (we are happy to provide choices, as we are a network of coaches.) Once you've selected a coach, and have reviewed and approved the coaching proposal:
1. Your coach will sit down with you to gain a complete picture of your background, current situation, key concerns, and to help flesh out your highest priority goals.
2. Your coach may suggest a fresh 360-degree assessment, if you haven't had one in the last year, including interviews with your direct leader (or select board members), colleagues, and direct reports—which will be followed up with a confidential debriefing.
3. Next, given your goals and the feedback received, your coach will work with you to define the coaching time frame and achievable outcomes given that timing.
4. Your coach will then customize a coaching plan with you that reflects your goals and concerns, and how you will work together. The plan will also include specific progress measures.
5. Your coach will conduct coaching conversations, seek periodic feedback from those around you, discuss real-world situations, and work out action plans accordingly.
6. Your coach will check in with you on progress versus outcomes. Once you decide you're done, you receive a one-year post-coaching development plan to continue your self-development on your own.
